DNA檔案揭祕　台灣西岸出沒長須鯨

【鄭敏玲／台中報導】一次看遍科博館最珍貴的標本!國立自然科學博物館「DNA檔案:自然歷史解密特展」上午正式開展，為期近三個月的展期中，將展出290件科博館珍貴標本，透過這些標本的DNA鑑定，帶領民眾尋找生物演化的奧秘！

科博館館長孫維新表示，年末大展「DNA檔案:自然歷史解密」，完整呈現地球生物的多樣性，以及彼此間的關聯。展出的標本類別涵蓋飛禽，走獸，鯨豚，爬行動物，兩生類，昆蟲，真菌，植物等，科博館特別出動三十位博士逐一分類重新進行研究，展品中最特別的是一顆寬達兩公尺的長須鯨頭骨， 是自 1860年迄今睽違已久的重大發現，這項發現也證實台灣西岸也是存在距今六千萬年的長須鯨出沒的地點之一，為行蹤不定的長須鯨研究提供相當珍貴的資訊。
